Maybe as a gift?
Still not allowed. I know people that have done it with cigars or booze, it's like rolling the dice though as it is a gamble if it gets confiscated or not. A coworker recently ordered cigars off a site in the states and all $400+ of them were confiscated ... he moaned about that for at least a week afterwards, lol! So draconian ... I'm not a heavy drinker but I do enjoy a tipple now and then and I get promo emails from a site called Caskers in the U.S and there are so many things I would love to try but can't. From what I understand, Canadian customs is very good at catching booze, a wild guess from what I have heard puts it at around 50/50, obviously bigger shipments stand a higher chance of being found. I guess a bottle here or there would be more likely to slip by but having never tried myself I am purely speculating.
Edit: The LCBO website says it is possible but they need to be the broker and the tax and surcharge would be a huge markup making it a very expensive proposition. I inquired once for a certain scotch and was told min order was a case but if someone sends it (not ordered through the LCBO) it seems possible.
