Does anyone have a good recipe for Chinese sweet & sour sauce please?

I make mine like so (I like some chilli in my sauce, obviously it's more normal to omit that):

1 red chilli, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 inch piece of ginger, finely chopped
>>> fry
1/3 cup white or rice vinegar (Note: rice vinegar gives better results)
4 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp soy sauce
>>> boil
2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 4 teaspoons water
>>> whisk in

The ketchup is the secret ingredient.
