pretubed casing

Postby labman » Mon Jun 16, 2014 1:15 am

I found some pretubed hog casings (32 - 35) to be tough. I wonder if I did something wrong. I soaked them overnight in cold water in the refrigerator. Before using I soaked them in warm water for about an hour.

I noticed the directions say to soak in warm water for the 12 -24 hour soak.

Do you think the cold water soak made them tough?

Thanks for your help.

Whose casing were you using? Sometimes, casing is just tough.
