I am going to have my first go at making cheese and I have a question regarding a cheese press.
I have a pork pie tin with a removable bottom it is 5inches diameter and about the same in height.
Due to it having a removable bottom there is a 1/2inch wide flange at one end.
Would I be able to use this to press the cheese in, having the flange end at the bottom?

as long as the cheese cloth does not catch or get damaged in any way it should be fine. Can u post a pic? Is the tin strong enough to hold its shape would also be a concern.

you can press into just about anything :D

My finest cheese ever is this (I hope :)) it's still maturing...

errh, yes :D I thought it might take longer than that for anyone to work it out

It's seeded from a Yorkshire blue, small holes pricked at the points of the bottle and pressed with a dutch cheese press.
