1 small cabbage, shredded
1 carrot, grated
1 red or green onion, cut into rings and halved
1/2 sweet red, yellow or
green pepper; diced, (optional)
1 clove garlic, minced or 1 tsp garlic powder
4 tbsp water
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tbsp olive oil or salad oil
1 tsp Dijon mustard
salt and pepper
For an attractive salad, use a combination of red, white and green cabbage, then garnish with toasted caraway seeds. Combine cabbage, carrot and onion and add sweet pepper/s (if using).
Combine garlic, water, lemon juice, sugar, oil and mustard; mix until
sugar dissolves. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Pour over salad and toss to mix.
