Back to pie and mash. Oddley's recipe was on the menu tonight and went down a treat. The local smoke house came up with a live eel for me, so I didn't have to clamber around the fenlands, it can be quite depressing out there. So all in all, my first taste of pie and mash went down well.

In my quest for eels I discovered they hold an annual eel festival in Ely, that could be an interesting day out.
