Gotta love (American) Football season

Postby johngaltsmotor » Tue Nov 17, 2015 12:36 pm

Over the weekend I made some sausage to grill up for a big football party coming up soon. Gotta have variety so while it's mostly cheesy beer brats I also made some Hot Italian and a batch of hot dogs. I wasn't as prepared as I thought so I ran out of casings (confused some sheep for hog) so I've got about another 10lb of brats and 10lb of kielbasa to finish this week.
The sad thing is I made the hot dogs for any friends who bring their kids to the party, but I'm betting they won't appreciate the effort... I modified my smoker to make it easier to keep temp. Well, it got hotter than it used to and just about every casing split while smoking. So I called an audible and finished them in the smoker instead of trying to poach broken casings. They still taste great.

They look good. That's a bit of bad luck about the hot-dogs, but as you say, they'll still taste great.

I'll have a hot Italian sausage with onions and peppers please. :D. Good with all types of football.
Fashionably late will be stylishly hungry.
