HOWZIT!?!
Alright lads, I'm born and bred in South Africa and I used to eat Russians religiously!
So since I have been here in the States I have never come across anything remotely like the elusive "Russian" ...UNTIL NOW.
I found a small Eastern European store here in Charleston and they sell these thin, dry sausages that have the SAME texture, SAME taste, Same euphoric experience as the original "Russians" from back home...only difference is that they are a little dryer, and thinner. "Russians should be the size of a Kielbasa.
The name of the Sausage is......... HUNTERS SAUSAGE.
THAT my friends is the cause of much lost time and root of this thread....Russians taste EXACTLY like Hunters Sausages, in taste and texture.
Try this link on Wikipedia (Note: the image is of a sausage that is waaaay to dry!)
