One for Gus ?

Sorry for the link, but as we have seen Gus is ready willing and able to smoke most things.
Fancy a go anyone ?

I do need to get out more, but they don't have enough carers to supervise.

ok, i'm all for this but by way of an aquarium pump hose into a small freezer I think to keep the smoke moving & circulating on a quick freeze, depending what membrane you can get away with, a one way non return flow (perhaps tyvek would be suitable)? bubbling until it freezes with a separate branch of flow to each cube

Or maybe & more simply periodic pushes of smoke & air into a ice-cube bag pipe fed, to build up the layers of smoke & ice, the smoke forced in with a puff of air in theory at least, should mix with all the cube chambers & ice cold water, be popped into the freezer, remove, add more water & repeat process, the sort of thing achievable with a smoke daddy type set up & a pressure valve to max out flow of air & smoke in quick releases.

release excess air, leave tube attached but formed & free of liquid to help with repeat insertions, freeze, remove top up, freeze some more till done.
Sounds like some nice fruit smoke,

In essence though you should be able to get away with something simpler (a tube fed sealable beaker) & starting the slush of the semi crystalline formation then decant & freeze properly

Hope that reads as I imagine it, I use twitpic for posting pics but no-one else would appreciate cheese & messy smoker shots so forgive me for not dummy run demo-ing how I think cube freezer bags'd work better than open buckets, by pinching the bag seal shut you could force the flow nicely throughout as they are all interconnected.

Sadly i'm all out of Jura whisky to try this for the forseeable.

perhaps try with an old cork lidded storage jar to pop a feed into, chill, smoke, swirl to capture, release remainder, seal chill, repeat till enough captured

seems a perfect opportunity for someone to purchase a dedicated "whisky ball" silicone ice mould & feed the smoke in, the 2 piece spherical mould would be an ideal candidate & very forgiving material intended to hold water leak free. feed, bleed, freeze form, release.

see here for the site.... http://www.thewhiskeyball.com/ great shape to smoke, melt, shake & refreeze without using anything complicated, with a good surface area, allowing for good uptake & maybe provide a "nose" of smoke.

or simply freeze & blow smoke over to adhere for a while because it's solid enough to take a draught of cold smoke without losing too much mass....

Will leave it with you

So annoying, the lovely whiskyball keeps appearing on my weebly homepage, taunting me, ..spent all my money on cheese ! .. I so want to try smoked icebergs for my whisky.

However I have some silicone & mouldable plastic pellets kicking around, I might have to see what I can come up with, ..now where did the dogs tennis ball disappear to!?
