Biltong Storage?

Biltong Storage?

Postby ArteMiss » Fri Mar 28, 2008 7:58 am

Hi guys,

I've been making Biltong for a few years now and have tried all kinds of

storage methods with varying degrees of success.

I was wondering how others stored theirs?

Store?

Ours gets eaten before you can even say the word "store"!

Hi,

I agree with Heather I never have any long enough to try and store it but I have been told that you can wrap in in plastic, squeeze all of the air and deep freeze it. Another method I read was to store it in a muslin bag or if it is sliced it could be kept in a jar.

Hi , You can vac pack or wrap it and freeze , but you need to let it get back to room tempreture before you eat it .I normally leave it sealed during this time as we have a lot of humidity and it gets soggy if you remove the packaging.
No one knows more than all of us.
