New cold smoke generator designed in the UK

That place brings back memories - I used to go to Camberley all the time when I worked for Sun! I work all over London, but I'm due in Woking on the 24th of June. If you're interested in the Oak dust I'll bring some over :)

If I get on well with the Oak, I'm planning to order some Hickory next. I enquired about the Whisky Oak and Apple wood dust, but it sounded like they don't get them in very often.

Thanks kil2k - I'll PM you tomorrow as we have a branch in Woking centre very close to the railway station - and as I'm in the process of making a venturi smoker then I'll soon be looking for some wood dust/chips

Guys, I will Definitely be going near enough to pick some up when the school summer holidays break, as wickstead park is there, having been in before its not a problem to have some confirmed ideas as to species types (assuming a macs csg is to be used) & therefore dust size.

Happy to weigh out & bag, then despatch a decent amount for confirmed order split, however the more varied you go, the more specialist the price  ..which is still cheap as chips compared to retail.

It would be mid-back end of july in all likelihood, unlike last year I don't have a litter of boxer puppies to worry over :|

scrape your pennies together & I can sort something out for you at cost say 1/3 of a bag each over 3 varieties. (as a start point).

I guess I can stump up for parking costs at wickstead park, just this once, ..tight scotsman alert! (we normally charge up there at 7.30 am to avoid the hideous & avoidable charges.

Prices can also tend to be 'variable' - expensive woods will drop in price dramatically with a large order.

Hi Gus,

I'd like some too if that's Ok.

Oak, apple & hickory & like kil2k, maple too, if they have any.

I can take upto 10kg of each if that makes it any easier.

Thanks

Hi goaty,

Where are you within the uk please?

I'd be buying & bagging for folks at (ashwood price) cost, & courier at cost, (sourcing best price naturally).
Prices are as I walk through the door, (seems to be how they operate when I call)

I'm guessing you are also running a Mac's CSG so will require the "Raucher Gold" dust, Räucher Gold E 150-750 Size 0.2 to 2.5 mm to burn nicely?

The wife is "aware" of the side track to Ashwoods, which will take 2 hours of Wickstead park time off the day for the nipper as they shut early) ..but hey ho, that's whats got to be done in the face of economy.

I'd weigh & bag where necessary in food grade clipseal then double bag for transport with commercial courier bags / cardboard boxes etc... in order to minimise any prangs & interdust contamination.

I'd suggest using beech or oak as a base for the other woods. Beech would be my preference.
