Smoke pit

I am about to move into a new house and I have a few months on my old lease. In those few months I plan on setting up a smoke pit; I was thinking around 5Ft long, 3 Ft wide, and 4 ft tall. There is a concrete slab already inplace for it, and I would like to be able to cold/hot smoke out of it. I was thinking about using some kind of concrete block from a local hardware store, id like to get a grate in it so I can use it as a large grill. I have a picture in my mind but i'm not very skilled in building(No experience) I know i want a separate burning box with a metal pipe and a baffle running to the smoke pit.
Im open ears to anyone for where i need to start, if anyone has a blueprint, or ANY information that might help i would appreciate it greatly!

Thanks, that first link was exactly what i was looking for! I had it in the past, then reformatted my hard drive and lost all my favorites. I am still open ears to any other information. Thanks for the fast response as well!
