Insecure Connection:

Postby MikeD » Fri May 15, 2020 7:12 am

Is there a reason why the website address is shown as being an insecure connection?

Dunno. Does it need to be a secure connection - there's no cash etc being handled? I've not been involved with websites for a long time so ask out of genuine interest. Back in the day, you only had your money handling stuff on a secure server as it was costly. Is it not the same now?

Insecure Connection:

Yes I suppose secure connections are mainly for websites where financial transactions take place, it was just that I hadn't paid any attention to the fact in the past, but having a friend with me the other day and wanting to show him a couple of topics on the forum that would have been of of interest to him, he commented to me that I was on an insecure connection, hence my post.

I suppose the totally honest answer is that I don't know. :D
