Hi Guys,

Those of you in the nkow , could you tll me if there is a bain marie type of urn that you can keep the milk/curds and whey at a set and constant temperature?

I think I saw something on the web the other day, but there wasn't a lot of description on it.

Yes if you can find a bain marie big enough by all means use it I use a water jacket round the make pot but I find it easier to just add hot or cold water water in the sink with the bucket standing in it

For my larger makes I have a big grey dustbin with a tap in the bottom and a six gallon fermenting bin to hold the milk I stand the dustbid on a little stand so I can get a draining bucket under the tap and the milk pot on a chinese bamboo steamer bottom so I have water surrounding the milk.

Anything will do to enable you to keep the milk at the right temperature some even use a wrap around heater blanket that is used for beer and wines .

You could even try a single electric blanket providing you get the right temp.

I'm not sure that I'm brave enough to mix liquids and an electric blanket!!

Yes but 50 Litres ?................bit heavy for home cheese making.

But they are very cheap.

I was looking at the 12L or 35L, but I find it hard to justify it given all the plastic brew bins I have. One day maybe.

I use an electric blanket under my wine in the winter. I dont have/use any leaking buckets/pots. There is really no danger unless one is sloppy.
The best comedy is to see the politicians in the USA blaming one another for all the stealing they have been doing for so many years.
