We're all mad

Introductions and chatter

Well the madness tastes great! I think most of us can turn out some great sausages from of a pack of meat that someone else could perhaps turn out a stew or a pot of soup at best.
No one knows more than all of us.

Cor, I didn't know we had to actually make sausage and stuff. I thought we were just here to talk about it! I haven't got time to make stuff, I'm too busy online!

Its reassuring to know that I'm in good company. The O/H doesn't mind as she gets fed some great stuff, and I get to spend my evenings in the kitchen doing my thing, whilst she sits on the sofa watching TV watching her rubbish programs.

My friends think it is a bit weird, but when they taste the results they are amazed and overwhelmed.

I was out walking in Yorkshire on Sunday with a pal, and we got our sandwiches out and he asked "what's on yours?". I just said, "oh, home made wholewheat bread, with home made butter, home made mayo, home grown tomatoes and home made honey roast ham." he gave me a quizzical look, so I let him have a half....he said he had never tasted sandwiches like it, and then said he could understand why I did what I did.

I suspect that many people get used to having processed, industrially produced food that they forget how food should taste, and for some others eating is just a means to an end. I like to think that I could be saving money, but I'm probably not as I have never worked out expenditure on raw materials & equipment.
