Picked up some kit, ready for smoker no2, got to pick up a large wardrobe carcass this weekend.

I got a few wireless monitors (7 in total) for exterior, interior bottom, mid chamber & upper in order to account for substrata temps (eg concrete standing, heat/coldsink & anything inbetween.

A couple of insertable probes
A base station to relay data.
other schmutter!

They're meant to be pretty accurate, ..& should be at around £3K*

 Luckily I didn't pay that for them, (though they are laboratory grade) wireless with lithium ion batteries & voice control / sms notification it's most definitely overkill.

It's actually the type of kit used in museums for delicate material, or as the chap from the supplying company said, about 20 levels beyond oregon scientific which I use all over the house.

Monitoring can be set to take measurements every 4 seconds ..if that's the sort of thing to float your boat.
The dilemma being though, it's most definitely overkill & a museum or proper project requiring nth degree monitoring better use this stuff!? ..in which case i'll be guiltily passing it onward.

As I say freecycle is definitely worth joining & checking out other folks throw aways...
