Quintessential Bangers

Postby Bad Flynch » Tue Dec 25, 2007 3:55 pm

Little wife did me a favor and bought me a new meat grinder/mincer for Christmas (L.E.M. #12). I have decided, therefore, to ask about a recipe for quintessential Bangers use it for a first try with the new machine. I am looking for a recipe that any resident of GB would recognize as such. I'm in the U.S., so I can't get rusk and a suggestion for a good substitute would be welcomed, too. Thanks.

Hi BF

Good Christmas present, If you look in the Devro book you will find a selection of English sausages, as for the rusk, replace this with breadcrumb

Sausagemaker,

Thanks for the reply. Since I live in the U.S., the Devro book is unknown to me. I did a search on this board, but got results that did not contain the English recipes. BTW, thanks to you and Willie for posting all those recipes.

Where can I get the book, or a copy? I see that you wrote that the book was a giveaway. I tried Amazon.com anyway, and there is little to do with Devro there.

Anyway, what I am looking for is an archetypical Banger recipe: one, which if eaten in the U.S., would prompt an Englishman to remark about its familiarity.
