Book to inspire me please

I have browsed the site and love the depth of knowledge and interest that i see on it. (Really like Oddleys posts but deeply disturbed by his avatar :shock: !) Hoping to get hooked. Been cooking for years hoping this will be a new and exciting hobby.
Thing I need is a book: a lovely inspiring book on making sausages of all sorts.
Got J.Grigson on charcuterie-lovely but too general...So suggestions please, thanks!

I too like Oddley's posts but his avatar hits too close to home. My son (4 years old) saw it and kept laughing teling me "he's naked Daddy."

I'd go to the library and look for Rytek Kutas's "Great sausage recipes and meat curing." It has a wealth of information and is a good start.

Welcome to the forum
It hard to pick one book as each one is good in it's own right. Look at amazon for some you will find a host of them there all good value & practice. The link below is for a free recipe book from stuffers which is very good.

thanks a lot fatnhappy and sausagemaker; I will follow your tips.
I read someones post (Parson? i think) who said that if he got one good receipe from a book he was pleased, I know that that is a good approach but i want more! The definative book is what I want really truely!
A fantasy I expect but ... you never know, someone out there might know of one (the secret of eternal life and the location of the holy grail would be good too!).

There is one book if you have deep pockets It is by Herbert W Ockerman & called Sausage & Processed Meat Formulations ISBN 0442234368
I am lucky enough to own a copy & looking on the net today it would cost �115 to buy.
However it does contain 182 different products with variations that amount to 1,261,158 Recipes covering all kinds of meat processing, but as it is written for industry it is very sparse in methodology as it assumes a degree of knowledge is already gained

Sounds like it could be the definative book but... my pockets are not that deep and I am not yet that bitten by this new potential hobby of mine! So thanks a lot but I think that I'll stick with the download receipes for now. My first lot of casings have just arrived so tomorrow is the day! I am going to try italien fennel and chilli.

Well you can't go far wrong with the recipes on here as they have all been tried & tested & if they are no good the guy's here will tell you.
Please keep us posted on your Italian fennel & chili it sound good to me.
