First go, new recipe!

Postby Lee » Thu Dec 22, 2005 2:40 pm

Hi, been lurking for a while thought I'd finally make a post!
Inspired to have a go at making my own sausages having been dissapointed so many times by supermarket "premium" brands, got a little hand mincer and plastic filling attachment, and away I went, freezer is now full of sausages! :D
For first go, made up a recipe based on a toasted sandwich deamt up by me and a mate when drunk one night in a field.

750g minced pork shoulder.
200g black pudding cubed.
200g stilton cubed.
half a jar Pataks hot lime pickle, as is.
handful of powdered oatmeal.

They were absolutely delicious, even if I do say so myself :D
Love this forum, lots of great ideas, got to convince the missis to let me build a smoker now.......

I must say - that is quite an eccentric sounding sausage!

Hee hee, brings me back to "deamt up by me and a mate when drunk one night in a field"
It started off as a joke, but it had to be done......
Trust me, it works
