I have seen Sodium erythorbate mentioned in a few recipes,
What does it do and where would this be obtainable from?

Just made some of Grandpa's Polish, the Oddley version and this gets better evertime I make it, I used liquied smoke in half of it and after its dried out in the fridg I am going to smoke the other half in my new Porky Pa smoker.
I will give a report on this smoker when I am all done and dusted.

Hi wallie,

http://lpoli.50webs.com/Tips.htm#Additives

Sodium Ascorbate is more or less the same as Sodium erythorbate.

I'm not recommending any of the shop sites, it's just an example to show sodium ascorbate can be obtained.

Hi Oddley
Looking at the link

http://www.healthplus.co.uk/pages/sodiu ... powder.htm

Active ingredients per gram:
Vitamin C (Sdoium Ascorbate)_____________889mg

Other ingredients
Contains no other ingredients

It seems to be just Vitamin C.
