Thanks, I look forward to trying it.

If I could make HP sauce I wouldn't be working for a living.

Take it to an analytical lab and reverse engineer the ingredients. You will know everything about it down to the milligram.

Don't be surprised if it is extremely simple, like the alleged "11 secret spices" in Kentucky Fried Chicken that turned out to be flour, salt and pepper.

BTW, I sent you a PM alerting you to a post of yours I replied to on another thread. I do not know if you have reply notification or personal messages turned on.

One of my email addresses is available. I notice that yours is not, so I had to use PM.

That's what I read somewhere. The article sounded authentic.

Here's the article I was talking about:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kentucky_Fried_Chicken

"The spices used in the chicken are a trade secret. However, a chemical analysis commissioned by author William Poundstone revealed some of the primary ingredients: salt, ground black pepper, flour, and monosodium glutamate. KFC claims that Colonel Sanders' recipe had eleven secret herbs and spices, although it curiously does not claim that this is the recipe in current use."

KFC recipe

Postby Parson Snows » Tue Jan 11, 2005 6:46 am

The KFC recipe has changed over the years, though wherever they sell "Original" recipe (not all countries), apparently this is in accordance with the "original formula/spice etc.". They have also changed the method of cooking the chicken, originally it was done in fat in pressurised cookers.

The point that you may have overlooked is
The Wikipedia Encyclopedia states
a chemical analysis commissioned by author William Poundstone revealed some of the primary ingredients: salt, ground black pepper, flour, and monosodium glutamate

it doesn't state that these are the only ingredients. If you look at the ones mentioned it is obvious that these would constitute the MAIN percenatge of the "formula" with the other herbs and spices (if used, which I believe they are) being in much lower quantities.

I do not have a good map of Britain so it's always a pain trying to figure out where places are. Can you tell me where each of these regions is located:

Yorkshire, Epping, Manchester, Cumberland.

I hope that this helps you out a bit
