Can't find Sorghum or Morton's Tender Quick at any of my local stores. Can I use Alaga Syrup in the place of Sorghum for making Venison Jerky, and what exactly is Tender Quick - is there a substitute?

MTQ is a mixture of salt, sugar and cure. You can use cure#1 at the rate of 1 tsp per 5 pounds of meat. Not sure what Sorghum tastes like but I am thinking molasses would work.I think any syrup would work but will give a slightly different taste
Please post your recipe.

Thank you. My problem is that I can't find "cure" around town and I have a refrigerator full of thawed meat.

You can usually find MTQ in the major grocery chains ask if they carry it. They tend to put it where you wouldn't think to look.
Rule #1 assemble all ingredients BEFORE starting.
