Potassium Chloride vs. Sodium Chloride?

Hi, newbie sausage maker here.
I'm doing my very best to stick to a low sodium diet. .. Blood pressure squeaky.
Looking at some of the recipes here seem to require a significant amount of Sodium Chloride.
Cannot Potassium Chloride be used instead?
And hopefully in smaller amounts.
