Black pud mix recipes

Having some of Franco's black pudding mix that was getting fairly old, I decided to use it up. Aside from doing the obvious with it, here's a couple of other recipes:

BP stuffed mushrooms

Make up some mix: about 30 g of mix to 50 ml of hot (not boiling) water (about 65 C). Add a chopped clove of garlic and a few drops of Tabasco.

Take the stalks out of some cup mushrooms, spray with oil and pour the mix in.

Cook in the oven until the mushrooms are cooked and the BP is set. Yummy (with home-cured bacon of course)!

BP Biscuits (also known here as "Haram Biscuits")

150 g fine oatmeal
75 g flour
BP mix as above with about 20 g beef suet added (Atora brand).

Mix together, adding more water (or BP mix) if necessary to get a kneading consistency.
Allow to cool.

Roll out thinly and use a biscuit cutter to cut into rounds.

Bake on a non-stick tray in a hot oven for about 15 minutes until crispy.

These went down rather well with some cheese last night.

(Note: biscuit is used in the UK sense).

Cheers!

Great ideas Martin. I'd never of thought of using BP in biscuits.
