Company lunch for the employees. We made 32 chickens. Some taters and green beans to go with it. Here's the chickens spinning on the spits. About a 2 hour cook. Each person got half a chicken.

Beats the heck out of skinny Costco weiners and church juice.

This trailer is my bosses. My gramps has a similar set up but its not mounted to a trailer. Its just the spits and brackets/motors to set up on the ground. No second level above though. We have made whole lamb, hogs and chickens on them for years.

It's a crackin' bit of kit.

Now to find someone to build me a smaller version...

When you do, please let me know - and then speak to the weather gods to arrange enough decent weather to use it (I haven't used my wood fired oven since April and not had a bbq this year :( )

Hi French tart - is the mechanism motorised or manual, can't see the 'workings' on the photo. Appears to be cycle parts so I'm guessing that there's pedals out of shot.

Cheers. yotmon.

Some cycle parts (chain & crank) but it is actual motorised with a Toyota Surf windscreen wiper motor, I am sure my OH will have photo's somewhere  ..... Not very child friendly as it is linked up to a car battery with crocodile clips!!! our kids are quite used to this sort of thing but we put a guard round (old fireguard) when other kids are round!!! Will be continued to tweak once the warmer weather starts!!! :D
