Minted Lamb casserole

My local pub used to make the most wonderful food cooked fresh on the premises every day by a real chef/owner, unfortunately a few years ago the owners sold up and the brewery took over, now it's all pre-packaged stuff, one of the most memorable dishes served every Sunday was a minted Lamb casserole which sold out within minutes, I have tried many times and ways to replicate this dish, and failed, the only way I can describe it, the lamb was meltingly tender, served in a creamy sauce with delicate minted flavour, but there was something else that I just can't get right, does anyone have a recipe similar that I could try or any suggestions.
