In 'Gala Pork Pies, yes. They are/were used in the catering trade - as I recall, the ones we had at work were 7lb pies. The advantage was that they were easy to slice.

Oh you rank amateurs! Unsophisticated primitives! All you need for making foot long, tubular eggs is a large funnel, a hen, and a nice pair of orchestra cymbals!
