fresh green chives instead of dried?

Postby skosler » Wed Nov 30, 2005 8:30 pm

I have a recipe for some good green onion sausage, but the recipe calls for dried green chives. The freeze dried chives are expensive compared to fresh chives. Could I substitute the fresh chives in the recipe. I didn't know if they would spoil or not.

Hi Stephen

Welcome to the forum

Re your question about fresh chives, yes you can use fresh but you will need about 4 times as much to equal the dried

Hope this helps
