Sausagemaking.org's Salami Kits

Postby Cheese Sport » Tue Sep 05, 2006 3:26 pm

New to sausage making-want to use the sausagemaking.org's salami kit. My question is this......how many pounds or kg of sausage does the less expensive kit make? Any help!!! Thanks!!

Anyone? 57 views and no responses? The folks that run the site recommended asking on the forum. Oh well.

Cheese Sport,
Maybe you'll be the one to try it out and tell us.

I found this:

The rest of the kit comprises stuffing tubes, starter culture, cure mix, and two types of complete salami mix which looks to be enough to do about 10Kilos of meat.

I don't know if that means each mix does 10kg or whether it's 10kg in total. Elsewhere I saw 56g cure per kilo of meat quoted so you could work it out if someone can say how much cure they got in their kit.

HTH

Many thanks!

I think I will give this a try the next time my wife is out of town! That way she shows up and it's hanging in our basement.

Cheese Sport,
please note that I took that quote from someone who had bought the kit with the grinder/stuffer included so the stuffing tubes come with that kit and not the standard kit.

Post some pictures when you make them!
