How to add more power to a cheap stuffer

Postby captain bill » Sat Jan 27, 2007 3:40 am

I've made a quick video about how I added a cheap band clamp winch to a $50 sausage stuffer. It works pretty well.

Here's the link-

Captain Bill,
Great idea. I'll bet it really helps those using those kind of stuffers.
Any ideas on how to make a motorised crank stuffer? :)

One tip that I've found is to stuff the sausage meat immediatly after mixing. The meat mix flows through the stuffer better than if you let it sit overnight to blend the flavours. I stuff, then link, then allow to rest overnight to blend and set the links before using or freezing.

Thanks Lance

I'm about to invest in a crank stuffer. I'll let you know if I come up with any good ideas when I get familiar with it. Maybe a slow rmp motor with a foot petal switch might work.

There is a great source of odd items for the tinkerer in Milwaukee that sells salvaged small motors of all kinds. You might find some ideas there.
