Pork not good for dogs?

Postby Sam Newman » Sun Sep 26, 2010 7:55 am

Hi In my grandads day, we were always told not to give pig meat to the dogs. Does anyone know why?

If I had to guess what he meant, He might have been talking about raw pork and the fact that it carries trichinosis. Much more so in his day then today.

And what the heck is a Squitty?

Sorry , squitty means the dog has the runs.

Ref raw pork I have not heard of this however I have in the past given my dogs cooked pork bones form the leg and it does not suit them at all.

Cheers Ww
