Can I use commercial cottage cheese as a shortcut starting material to make cheese? It would simplify a lot. Just add the appropriate cultures and squeeze/press it?

I have thought of that myself but all the CC that are in the stores here are with some sort of preservatives. If u can find one thats just salted then I would try it, especialy if its a Bloomed cheese u want to make. :)
