Vertical stuffer

Postby andrewe84 » Thu Nov 05, 2015 10:38 pm

Hi, has anyone in the UK for any vertical stuffer recommendations? Can't seem to get LEM products here, Amazon seems to be the only place and is always out of stock. I've been eyeing this one up, looks pretty good tip me but if anyone can recommend that would be great.

I've just bought this 7ltr stuffer from ecateringonline. Ordered it, and got the dispatch notification yesterday, so I'll update after I've used it.

Wow!That's quite a size! I'm thinking that maybe even 5l might be too big...let me know when you've taken it for a spin.

Yep, I've got a 7l jobbie. Virtually identical, and that was precisely my reaction too. Very pleased with it though.

They do a 3ltr version on there, but with the price difference between the 3 and the 7, I had to go for the 7!

I've got 4 x 12 hour shifts next week, and my stag do next weekend, so it'll probably be the week after that. It looks solid though. The instructions can be thrown straight in the bin, as they look like Chinese translated into broken English, but it's simple enough to operate. The tube section swings out to the back so it can be filled. Comes with a spare O ring for the plunger too. Cleaning it in the sink could be a royal pain in the proverbial, so I'll have to figure out something there. Looking forward to trying it out!

I've had the identical stuffer but in 5 litre for many years now, never any problems. After use, just make sure you dismantle the valve on top of the piston (Don't lose the small parts).
And be careful when you take the seal of the piston and fit it correctly. It pays you to have a spare silicon seal on hand.
You will be set years. This thing will never wear out with correct use.
Cheers,
Jan.

I've just had a look at the website and see what you mean I don't think I can resist the 7l one for an extra tenner! Bigger is definitely better! Enjoy your Stag do.

There is a shop out of New York, called the Sausage Maker that has a 5 lb vertical stuffer. Don't know if they ship and they are having issues with their web page. Maybe weather related for them back there today. I've used mine now for a number of years works great easy setup, clean up and breakdown.
The smoke is rising and the butt is brining

If you haven't bought one yet, I came across this on eBay while searching for something else. It looks identical to mine, but significantly cheaper - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-7-L-Stuff ... 1850029727

I went for this one http://www.sausagemaking.org/acatalog/Pro_5L_Stainless_Steel_Stuffer.html

The reasons I chose a horizontal version were less "leftovers" from a mix & more stability without bolting it down.
