Rennet for cheese making

As I now have a freezer full of sausage I think I will have a bash at cheese making.
I believe that most of the ingredients are available locally but I am not sure about Rennet.
I think I read somewhere that it should be available in the pudding departments of supermarkets or health stores, but I have been unable to find it.
Does anyone know where I should look now, I would want to try locally as apposed to mail order.

Thanks
wallie

Tesco sell "Just Wholefoods Vegeren Vegetable Rennet" to be found in the homebaking aisle, homebaking sundries shelf.

Waitrose have Langdale essence of Rennet lurking amongst the vanilla essence and food colourings section, sainsburys don't seem to stock it.

If you go for the Langdale Essence, note that it is very much more dilute than the Vegeren.

I would agree with jpj on that, use essence as a last resort only.
