Your garden looks as good at rest as it does in full production Big Guy. My small plot has surprised me with a bag full of rocket yesterday and a large quantity of parsley. I've never had a crop so late in the year. A lot of my climbing plants are flowering again as are some of the pond plants. Anyone else finding this last minute bounty?

I grew up in full four season country and except for a few days in the fall and spring, well I don't miss it. Come on over here, full year growing season, but the down side is too hot for some of my favorites. Thanks for all the great posts, and hope to see more next spring.

I was surprised this year as well, we picked tomatoes unitl late october plus my wife pick the last of the peppers today.

Our Garlic wasn't so good this year, I think it might be down to not a cold enough winter, so I'll try another variety and sow in the new year.

The wild flowers seem to be having a 'second wind' here in the fens. I've noticed a few varieties that should be well and truly asleep by this time, but there they are happily in full flower.

Winter has arrived. In a month you won't be able to see the tomato cages as they will be under the snow.





I think its about time to put my tiller in the shed until next spring.

Big Guy, When are you going to Florida for the season? Will you fly or drive down there? Be sure to take your PC. Please let us know when you are leaving as a bunch of us would like to "gang clean" your grinding equipment!

9 days but who is counting. LOL I still have a batch of Peameal bacon in brine that I have to finish up this weekend. Folks in OH, Tenn and Fl are looking forward to it. We drive down, a leasurly drive , stopping at friends in OH. the next day we go to Tenn stay the weekend with friends , Then continue to our destination in Fl. I won't be doing any sausage making for the next 4 months, just eating what I've done earlier. I do take my lap top down and stay in touch. Its nice to hear how the rest of the people who stay here suffer all winter while I'm basking in the sun.
