Recentl while on holiday in Turkey a side dish came with our meal in a restaurant, it was soft finely sliced onions in a clear sweet, very garlicky sauce, it was absolutely delicious, does anyone have a recipe for this dish or something similar, or even know what it was called.

Thanks

Wal

Could well be, or a variation of this, it was served cold, will give this a go as it looks so good, I have always found the food to be of very good quality, I always avoid the touristy places, they can be expensive, we try and find restaurants or cafe's where the locals eat, I have always found the best people to for this info are the staff who look after your accomadation, maids, room service staff, etc, been going to Turkey on and off for over 20 years, cant recall a bad meal, just the occasional one that didnt come up to standard, my brother is going in July to the same area were the restaurant with the onions is, so he's going to the restaurant to see if he can get the recipe.

Cheers
