Hi guys,
I haven't been following this topic, I am too lazy to go through it and I have a question. Can I build a fireplace-pizza oven combo like this
http://www.google.it/imgres?q=camino+co ... 136&ty=116
that use the same vent and have the whole thing ACTUALLY working in terms of removing smoke?
Thank you for your input.

Yes if you can lay bricks and find a plan major downside is do you want to stand in front of a fire when you are trying to cook in the oven ?
The one with the big hole underneath would be just wood storage
The other one looks like a white oven

Massimo,
There are a few threads on Forno Bravo about people who have built a fireplace beneath the oven (where the wood storage would normally be)
From my first hand experience - is that when the weather is a bit colder and you are entertaining guests - people like to stand in directly in front of the oven to warm up...
Which - while you are trying to cook Pizza... is complete royal PITA!!
Given that pizza will cook somewhere between 30s to 2min - you are always turning - checking etc... and having people crowded around.... leaves you with no elbow room!
I think it would be best to build a separate fire place, well away from the oven... or at least a little distance away.

Thank you all. I have been doing some research and I my main concern is the discharge of fumes. Maybe I should opt for a different place for the oven.

Hi guys...
Recently I was asked to help a community in Corris West Wales to help them build a fire-brick Pompeii oven which will become a communal oven to be used by all the people of the village.
Last week-end I traveled up there and with help from the villagers we got it done. I've tried to illustrate the build with comments and a photo diary..
