Hi
in Naples a few years ago I had a bread cake that had fried bacon and chopped egg inside the bread.

Tried a few books today and web searches but no luck

Anyone know how to bake it?

George

Could it be the traditional Naples Easter bread casatiello, made with whole egg, salami and cheese?

You can make a focaccia base and put pretty much anything in it.. Did 2 the other week, a traditional rosemary and olive, and a cheese, onion and sundried tomato.. that was particularly nice. I would say you could make one with chopped bacon and either chopped boiled egg or scrambled egg.. I may even try it next time.

Hi
just made a focaccia, well its due in the oven in 10 minutes. Never thought of doing it that way.

When I went it was Easter but no cheese and the egg was chopped.

Thanks guys
George

Hi
focaccia was good (very good in fact) except a little burn on the bottom. I suspect it would have been better not to grease the bread pan

EDIT
done some more since and now will not be greasing the pan despite the instructions in the recipe book, I have discovered just a wipe of flour stops the sticking in the non stick pan
