Soggy top loaf with new Pansonic breadmaker

All about bread

Postby MickHeaton » Tue Jun 30, 2009 8:14 am

The large hole is strange?

It is very doubtful that is has anything to do with the ingredients and I am fairly sure it must be on the mechanical side.

As jenny mentioned about the paddle, this could really only be the problem as nothing else comes into contact with the loaf?

Try the dough setting to establish that is fine.

Maybe also try running a cycle with nothing in the machine at all. I presume there is a clear area in the lid where you can see in, make a note of where the paddle is prior to its baking period and so if you do not notice it moving you can refer back to check if it has moved or not?

I would say it is the paddle moving from the sounds of it?

Regards,

Mick

Hi
where are you poppikin?

I'm in North Manchester and you can come and use your recipe in mine if you are close enough

Better yet, bring your machine/ ingredients and make 2 batches side by side

Hello George & Jen

That's incredibly kind of you both and has cheered me up no end as I am a bit weary of this.

I live in Surrey and rarely get further north than London.

Thanks again

Poppikin,

Maybe you have someone local to you with whom you could compare notes.

Hello Spuddy

Thanks for your post.

I live near junction 6 on the M25 in Surrey, where are you in West Sussex?

In the meantime, I have to make a visit to the Cambridge area and have arranged to meet up with Jenny.

If you really want a laugh, I realised I had nothing to take a photograph with to show the loaf with the spectacular hole on here. So I bought one, a Panasonic of course. It's the Lumix fx 150 and I got this one because it says that, as well as lots of complicated features, you can put it on a "point and shoot" mode and I cannot see how to get this to work either!

Thanks for help

 Is there a dial on top with auto written anywhere on it? that's usually the point and shoot mode.

Dave

Edit: it's marked iA on your camera dial

I've downloaded the manual if you need any help 8)

On my Lumix (different model) the simple mode is indicated by a red heart.

Thanks both saucisson and wheels

And, yes, a downloaded manual would be a great help (although I should be able to get that from the Panasonic website?).

I know absolutely nothing about these cameras and I think I was being a bit ambitious thinking I could just pick it up and start snapping away. There's so much of it it's a bit daunting knowing where to start.

I will look at the dials as soon as I can get to the camera.

Thanks for help.

Yes, you can get it here:

http://tda.panasonic-europe-service.com ... qt1t00.pdf

so if you get stuck I have a copy I can have a look at and try and make sense of.

I note that they don't even mention the point and shoot (that they call intelligent Auto) until you get to page 26

Regrettably, my post was of no help at all as the symbols are different.
