Here are some photos of our first attempt at making pizzas in the bread oven, at our house in southern France. The pizzas were excellent. The oven is very large, took about 3-4 hours to get up to temperature, pizzas cooked in a minute! The photos aren't too good, I'll take more when we go down there in October.

Here are some I made in the Stumps smoker, stoked up to 400°F. I made the crust, pepperoni and sauce, the rest is store bought.

They look great.

That bread oven of John's is in another class though. As my younger nephew would say, "It's the pooches privates!".

It was built the same time as the house, around 1830. Apparently, it was fired once a month to bake bread for the commune, god knows what the bread was like just before the next firing!

Mmm. Looks great! I got back my appetite for pizza. Green olives are under-rated.
