Lidl's Bread Flour now 50p for 1.5 Kilo Bag Friday 10th Dec

Postby Abrwstr » Fri Dec 10, 2010 4:26 pm

Just a quick heads up on Lidl's bread flour it's now down to 50p for a 1.5 Kilo bag and it's made from British Wheat (I do not know enough about it to judge whether that is a good or bad thing).

I have put the analysis on as well in case anyone is interested

Ingredients
British Wheat Flour,
Flour treatment Agent (Ascorbic Acid)

Energy 351 Cal / 1489 KJ
Protein 12.4g
Carbs 70.6g of which sugars 1.3
Fat 1.4g of which saturates 0.3g
Fibre 3.1g
Salt Trace

This is the actual flour not the bread mixes, so it is less than half the price of Tescos.

Lidl's plain and SR flour has gone up to match Tesco's, lets hope Lidl doesn't match Tesco's bread flour which is now £1.29 a bag

69 pence a bag for bread flour in my local Lidl today so I stocked up. I still grind my own wholemeal, but it will be interesting to see what the next lot of grain costs me.

For those of us who occasionally resort to supermarket bread flour, Tesco have their strong white on at 50p a bag at the moment.
