Lost Avatars

First off I would like to thank the people who have put an enormous amount of time into migrating us to the new software. This wasn't a trivial affair and some of them have sweated blood doing it. I can name drop at another time :)

The first problem that confronts a small number of members is they are missing their avatars. This affects only 128 out of over 3500 members, and yes I am one of them :)

We have managed to rescue the lost avatars and mounted them here:

avatars/

Right click on your avatar and select "Copy image URL"

Then open your user control panel, find the edit avatar section, and paste in the URL into the 'link off-site" box

If anyone has any trouble doing this post in here telling us which your avatar was and we will help you reunite with your avatar.

I don't see a way to upload a new avatar in the Control Panel. I'm sure I'm overlooking something!

I was able to figure out a work-around. Uploaded it to imageshack and then copied the URL over. Sorry for an inconvenience.

I just thought of a question. Pictures linked from imageshack are block at my work so I don't see those pictures in postings and I now just noticed that my avatar isn't visable. Is there a way to upload a picture directly to the site rather then link through a website?

Uploads are not permitted due to host server constraints.

Can you recommend an alternate upload / link source other than imageshack? Maybe Flickr or TinyPic?

I use photobucket. Don't know if that helps, or not.

Hello
I found my Avatar in the "library" but when I right click it I don't get the "Copy image URL" message.
Any ideas?
Cheers

In Firefox, the option is called 'Copy image location.' If you can PM me and tell me which one is yours, I can help you.

In IE, right click on the pic, and choose Properties. In Properties, highlight and copy the complete URL.
