2014 recommendations for easy photo upload to site please.

Postby GUS » Fri Oct 24, 2014 8:13 am

My regular uploader twitpic is closing down sadly, so as a person who does not want his details sold all over the internet / but understands fair use policy for instance, I'm wondering who to use now, & mainly who doesn't have a complicated sign up & sell your soul policy to upload pics to the forum? ..I don't mind directly uploading from my own pc, but that seems not to work here.

Advice please good people.

I use photobucket with privacy settings engaged. Sausagemaking.org won't be hosting photos, directly, any time soon, so uploading directly from your PC won't be an option in the foreseeable future.

Would dropbox be worth considering?

I use photobucket also. It's pretty easy to use and setup initially.
As wheels said you could use Dropbox. I have dropbox for storing data, and photobucket for pictures. I don't care who sees the pictures I upload to photobucket, but I keep dropbox for more sensitive content.

imgur.com for sure. I've tried others in the past, and found my images can disappear after some time.

It's really easy to use, and can also re-size your images for the board.

Click on your username in the top-right, then go to images:

If you need to re-size an image, lick the auto-resize option [640x480 will be perfect. Then click on "Computer" and browse to where your photo is located:

Once your photo is uploaded, click on the image, then click on the copy button next to the section that says "BBCode (message boards & forums)":

Once that is done, all you need to do is paste the link over here [Ctrl+v, or right-click --> Paste].
