Hi!
Markets here are incredibly expensive (the one's I've experienced anyway, and I seriously didn't think that what I was buying, was gvfm (good value for money) so it put me off going back. That's not to say that I don't like the one's that I use in Scotland. Though Ireland had gone through the 'famine' without doubt, myself, family and friends find the Scottish spuds, way better quality and tastier, so that's another bonus for me to look forward to when I go home - yey!
A local farmer in Scotland that I use when I go home to purchase potatoes, told me that one of his customers switched to Irish. No one liked, so he stopped and went back to the farmer. I think it's very important to get your product right - and know your customer! Best of luck to all.
PS - Home made jams and chutneys - mmmm hmmm. I can't get enough of them. So much so, I make my own.
