I've been doing 400 motorway miles a week for the last 14 months taking the daughter to work (supposed to have been for 2 weeks) and I'm seeing crashes daily. What ever happened to lorry drivers being known as the 'king of the road'. Every time I come onto the slip roads I'm met with at least 3 HGV's hunched up together thundering past, leaving no room to get on. Last week we had 6800 chickens on the road when the lorry hit the side barrier, killing 1500 of them. Don't ask why the chicken crossed the road !
One of the best maneuvers this week was a transit van on my right in a three lane traffic island who decided to turn left in front of me as I was going straight on ! Anyone know if they still sell St. Christopher medals ?

At least the chickens aren't likely to hurt you. There was a truck carrying bee hives that overturned along the East Coast of the US. ouch

I would suppose that "get off of the wall" is a contraction of: "get off from the top of the wall ".

At least this rant was beneficial. I'm writing a User Manual at work and had to think about some terminology (not "off of" but similar) so I asked for input to be sure. It turns out they weren't sure either so they looked up the correct phrasing before replying to me ;-)
