I hope that you don't do that. Maybe your local butcher can let you buy a few yards of casing off him - then you'll know whether it's the casings.

If there's still a problem, try the butcher's casings with one of the tried and tested recipes on here. Use the techniques described in the Beginners guide (see the FAQ).

If it still doesn't work, then it's down to the cookiing.

Hi guys

Just before Christmas I got in touch with the manufactures of the skins & they sent me some skins threaded on a soft plastic tube & told me to "pack" the skins to almost their maximum. Maybe 1 - 2mm under, NO more. Tried these skins & everything is fine, great sausages ! It was the bloody skins all the time ! Had a long conversation with the guy who sent me the skins & he "almost" admitted they knew there was a dodgy batch.
Thank for all the suggestions & I wont be putting my machine on ebay any time soon.

Hi Guys

How do I find the recipes on this forum ? I've typed every word or phase I can think of but can't seem to access any recipes. I shoot a lot of game & I'm running out of ideas, now I've sorted the bursting problem, I'm realy getting in to it !

Thanks "wheels" I'll give some of them a try, larder full of carcasses, need some new ideas.
