Hot Dog Recall

Postby NCPaul » Mon Jul 17, 2017 5:37 pm

Just over 7 million pounds for bone chips in Sabrett brand dogs, as if we needed more reason to make our own.
Fashionably late will be stylishly hungry.

Canadian processor Maple Lodge Farms is recalling Maple Lodge Farms brand Chicken Frankfurters and its Zabiha Halal brand Chicken Frankfurters, due to the potential presence of bone fragments, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced.
This recall was triggered by the company. There has been one reported injury associated with the consumption of these products.

We got fresh, ground turkey from Wegman's (kosher, no less, because it was all that was available that day), and it was full of bone chips. The bacteria and foreign material pretty well indict large-scale, mass-production meat processing. I buy almost nothing prepared, anymore, including ground meat. I'll make my own, thanks.
