I was looking at a couple of recipes the other day and saw something listed called 'butcher's pepper' Everyone knows what that is, right? Well, sorry, I don't. I've no idea what yirtrnicky is either, for that matter, or stolfenshtumpenwusrt, or jusshutderfu...well you get the idea.
Every field has its own lexicon, acronyms, slang etc What about devoting a little corner of this place to a glossary. It could be reviewed by the experts here, but could I suggest it be separate from the forum style? It would be really nice to have a section that you can just look up information, rather than wading through yards of chatter. Maybe, if it catches on, the same could be done for recipes...?
