Nice to put a face to the name Franco.

Sounds alot like the curry nights I used to have some years back with like minded folks at work.

Some questions:

The picture on the top right - is that your kitchen cooker? I'm looking to get a new one - and I quite fancy something with a BBQ Style grill.

Was the 'heath robinson' stuffer he is talking about a Reber? :-)

Franco,

Great article, but my favourite quote...

"Bolton sausage-eating chic: stretchable fabrics are very much in evidence"

I suppose this is due to the extensive research that is undertaken on our behalf? :D

Yes, that line caused much amusement in our house(mostly at my expense). I'm thinking about doing a sponsored slim after seeing myself in print. Anyone up for it?

Mhh yeah - i'm in need of a slim too. Though in theory all this sausage eating is atkins friendly - I don't think it is working for me

BTW franco - can you answer the question on the cooker and sausage stuffer?

cooker etc.

Postby Franco » Sun Feb 20, 2005 8:10 pm

The stuffer used was an 8kg reber(same as yours but the red one).

The cooker is a Smeg A3 which is massive 120cm wide, I would not swap it for the world

If you check out my ebay auctions I sell Smeg kitchen appliances as well as sausagemaking equipment. I can get hold of any Smeg appliance but they are graded meaning there may be a minor blemish on the outside, this is usually o the sides and not noticeable.

If you fancy any Smeg appliance let me know and I'll get you a quote.

The barbecue grill was an optional extra, it cost around 60 and probably gets equal amount of use with the non stick griddle which is interchangeable.

So how much does a SMEG A3 cost (roughly)? I was looking at getting a 90cm wide - do smeg do something similar in this format?

Also - what is it like cleaning this thing - particularly the BBQ grill.

Yep that is one nice cooker wish I had the room. About the diet I have been on one for the last 6 months lost over two stone still got a way too go.

The great thing is I can eat and drink what I like as long as it is within 1500 calories per day. I keep a rolling balance so if I go over I just make it up. My wife wrote an excel sheet to keep track of the calories. It can keep track of 228 food items at the moment and more can be added.

If anybody wants it

Goto the bottom of the page and click free then on the page that loads click Diet.zip
