Cheap equipment

Postby Reeder » Mon Oct 08, 2012 11:35 pm

My father does work for a couple of brothers who own property in town, they bought a lot of land that had a resaurant on it. What equipment do you think would be most benifital for me to get from them? I would concider starting a sausage making business in the future if I decided I had the time, I'm pretty sure I can find investors. I was thinking several ladels whisks, and spatulas,2" and 4" hotel pans, sheet pans, metal mixing bowls, small stand mixer(s), dough cutters, funnels, reach-in refrigerators, any more ideas? I never ate at the restaurant but I think it was mostly bar food/American food... not high end but there is suposed to be some nice equipment.

I would look for the following if you can find it

commercial meat grinder
large capacity Sausage stuffer
commercial stand mixer
stainless prep tables
deli slicer
extra large mixing bowls

walk in freezer/commercial fridges could be useful for dry curing.

I guess what to look for is dependent on what they have. Probably don't have a vacuum sealer but would be awesome if there was one. Also a blast chiller or a combi oven.
